Growing up, Mother always made us beautiful birthday cakes – skills and enthusiasm that rubbed off on me!
My first serious creation was a 7ft long thermometer in 1985, a lifesize replica of “Theta MK IV”, mascot of the Royal College of Science Union, for his 10th birthday. We were drying the icing with hairdryers just moments before the event but all went off perfectly in the end. This was soon followed by Jez’s 70th Birthday cake.
You can get a sense of the variety of cakes I have made since then by taking a look around this site, or visit me on Instagram @rosessignaturecakes.
